My passion has driven me to write every day of my life. Hence, I have never worried about any defined schedules. I always have new ideas exploding within me, and this prompts how I do my writings. However, I have learned to create a writing routine to ensure that I fulfill my goals. Lack of a routine makes me highly susceptible to procrastination and also frustrates me especially when I realize that my writing output is not as per my objectives.
Developing a routine has enabled me to make writing a regular habit (Becker, 2008). Moreover, I have learned that the time I spend in a fictional world is an effective measure of a successful writing day. I am a procreative writer as I can produce a lot of words, although volume I not the best measure for my abilities.
As a writer, I have made writing a habit and a priority. In addition, I also carry a book with me as I maneuver through my daily life activities when I am not writing. I usually read in sips rather than gulps to ensure that I contemplate the content. In addition, I always carry a notebook whereby I scribble down my thoughts and sentences that I later compile in my content. Each day I spend some time reading what I have written the previous day and make some amendments, it also enables me to pick up the thread of what is expected of me.
Overall, like any other writer, I have my phobias. In the past years, I have developed a severe issue of writing anxiety. In writing, one is afraid of not being able to outline their thoughts especially if the discourse is complex (Becker, 2008). In many instances, I have also been worried that my content is wrong and that I would face criticism from the audience. However, through the creation of a comprehensive routine, I have been able to conquer my writing phobia.
