There are various dynamics that dictate the status of the health care industry in the world today. Transcultural nursing is one of the essential aspects associated with health care in the administration and service delivery of advanced clinical services. One of the essential motivating factors towards embracing transcultural nursing is the high rate of globalization that has increasingly inspired cultural diversity in the society. In order for the advanced clinical experts to provide the required health care services through holistic and individualized care, the need to have a transcultural perspective in nursing is elemental (Schneider, 2015). This assists the experts to accommodate the needs and expectations of health care service consumers from diverse backgrounds and enhance the level of resilience in the healthcare facilities.
In the article ‘Standards of Practice for Culturally Competent Nursing,’ Douglas et al outline that there are various standards that should be embraced in the healthcare facilities in order to enhance the cultural competence of nursing and healthcare. These perspectives promote the acquisition of a global view towards essential services as part of having high-quality cultural orientations in the organizations. The authors contend that the multicultural perspectives must be illuminated in the social, economic and political systems within the health care industry (Douglas et al, 2011).
Social justice is one of the essential entities of transcultural dynamics. This entails the need for the health care experts to adopt objectivity and impartiality in the health care systems to promote the level of service delivery. Social justice can be embraced by the health care experts through upholding human dignity and respect for the health care consumers from all backgrounds. The healthcare experts should also adopt critical reflection in order to have a view of cultural heritage, beliefs and values of patients as the qualities that are important towards recognizing the needs and expectations of the patients.
The authors outline that, in order to give services that are consistent with the wide cultural views, it is important for the healthcare systems and structures to have sufficient knowledge and understanding of all cultures. Understanding the perspectives associated with families and communities that belong to the global society can assist the experts to accommodate complex variables that are instrumental towards the achievement of culturally competent atmospheres to promote the well-being of patients. This can also assist in the assessment of trends in the society and also facilitate the formulation and implementation of culturally competent channels of communication (Douglas et al, 2011). This also increase the level of sensitivity of the health care experts to the whole cultural proficiency issue in the society and in service delivery.
Advocating for the empowerment of the patients is also one of the essential factors that can promote the manifestation of cultural competence within the healthcare organizations. This can be achieved through adopting and running programs that are associated with health education in the society. Through the education, the patients can have a critical understanding of their rights and privileges when it comes to receiving services that are culturally competent in any health care facility (Douglas et al, 2011). This can also ensure that health care experts apply the use of autonomy in the most appropriate way.
The need to have cross cultural communication and leadership is imperative towards the acquisition of implementing the transcultural educational perspectives in the society (Douglas et al, 2011). Cultural competency in both the verbal and nonverbal communication entities is very important because it can facilitate the accommodation of the unique health care needs and expectations for all people in the society. The leadership is also some of the most important perspectives towards the change of the cultural view of the health care systems because it can promote sufficient influence in various groups of people towards the accommodation of diverse cultures in health care admintration.
