Boise Parks and Recreation Kid City Program is an organization which offers educational and recreational activities to grade 1 and grade 2 students. The staff and volunteers are responsible for the supervision of the learning and recreational activities. Moreover, the volunteers act as role models to the students. They engage with the Kid City children through playing sports, working on arts, and through conversation and socializing. Also, they assist the kids in doing their homework and tutoring them.

The mission of Boise Parks and Recreation Kid City program is to promote education among the young children in the society through learning and mentoring. The organization has hired staffs who guide the grade 1 and 2 kids in the studies. The program is designed to handle between 250-300 kids. Also, there are volunteers in the organization who help the kids with their homework. The volunteers also act as role models to the kids. The children also need time to play and the staff is responsible for guiding them with their recreational activities. Although the Catholic Church is the main sponsor of Boise Parks and Recreation Kid City Program, the organization is also funded by the national government, donors and well-wishers.

The organization deals with destitute and orphan kids. Also, the kids from poor families are allowed at Boise Parks but at a subsidized fee. This ensures that the kids from poor families are also able to acquire better and quality education like their counterparts from rich backgrounds. Offering educational facilities to the destitute kids also ensures that the kids have a brighter future. Moreover, the orphan kids get to play with other kids under the supervision of the staff.

Boise Parks and Recreation Kid City Program is located in Maryville city in the state of Missouri. It plays an important role in the development of a kid. Social development of a child is also an important role of the program. Moreover, the program aims at empowering the kids to become active participants in the transformation of their societies. Also, the program focuses on attitude, values and behaviors which enable kids to learn to live as family in a world full of diversity and pluralism. Offering educational facilities to the orphan kids is an important tool of poverty reduction in any society. Most destitute kids do not have sponsors and so this program is good for promoting literacy among such kids. When I first walked into Boise Parks and Recreation Kid City Program, I saw kids with a bright future. I could hear kids from one of the classes repeating after their tutors. It felt nice associating with people whose work is to promote the education of the less fortunate in the society. I was emotional at when I saw the kids laughing and playing in the pitch. It was hard for me to imagine how such kids could be so happy yet they were orphans. They lived like a family and they always seemed jovial and no one could notice what they had gone through before they came to Boise Parks and Recreational center

I came to Boise Parks and Recreation Kids City Program with the assumption that the kids were not happy. It was hard for me to imagine that such kids who do not live with their parents or relatives could be happy. I also thought that since the program had many children, they could not be happy due to insufficient services. In addition to that, I also thought that since most of the workers were volunteers working with no pay, they could be harsh to clients. I was surprised by the warm-welcome I received when I first stepped into the program facilities. I was prepared to deal with rude people but from the warm welcome, I had to change my mind and start responding in a soft manner.

I started viewing the kids in the program as any other kid in the society and not as orphans or destitute. The relationship between the kids and the staff was superb. I also handled the staff and the volunteers with a high level of esteem due to their high level of professionalism. Visitors were welcomed well and those who were involved in different activities treated in a humane manner which was completely opposite of what I anticipated. Precisely, the whole organization seemed like a family.

My past experiences were that most destitute and orphans could not live happily. Most kids who lacked parents lacked not only people who could love them but also basic need. On top of that, was used to rude and unprofessional volunteers who handled people without care. All this assumptions changed when I set my foot on this program’s premises. I started viewing people whom I met in the program not as strangers but as family. These are the people who make our lives more meaningful.

Planning for the future
Timely planning for the future is essential in minimizing difficulties. Correct budgeting and avoiding impulsive purchasing is important. One should also have clearly set goals of what he or she wants. Moreover, one should maximize of his or her potential and work hard for better results. Lastly, one should be careful before engaging in any activity. One should look at factors like outcome of an event, its advantages and disadvantages.

What I need to do to build my strength and skills
In order to succeed in future, every individual should identify his or her strength and work on them. In addition to that, identifying one’s skill is fundamental in achieving success in life. Dedicating time and persevering is also important in strengthening one’s skills. Thirdly, knowing your talent and working on it will also improve a person’s strength. Above all, one needs to work hard in order to build his or her skills and strengths.
