Company
Samsung was originally located in Korea in 1938 as a small exporting business (Samsung, 2016a). Later, the company expanded to include different products and has specialized “in digital appliances and media, semiconductors, memory, and system integration” (Samsung, 2016a). This expansion began during 1969 with the establishment of Samsung-Sanyo Electronics, which merged with Samsung Electro-Mechanics to create Samsung Electronics in March of 1977 (Samsung, 2016a). Since the beginning of the company, it has focused on “making a better world through diverse businesses” (Samsung, 2016b). Therefore, Samsung is dedicated to innovation. The company, through its dedication to innovation, the company meets its focus at contributing “to a better global society” (Samsung, 2016c). This is done by “living by strong values” that emphasize people (both employees and the values they have for the company; emphasizes a commitment to excellence towards being the best; emphasizes flexibility in order to meet changing demands; emphasizes integrity to allow for ethical operations throughout the entire company; and emphasizes co-prosperity to allow for sustainable operations (Samsung, 2016c).

Corporate Policy
The corporate policy is based on creative thinking. The overarching goal of this policy will to be to create innovative products through meeting customer needs in different ways. Although the corporate policy is broad, each department will be able to meet the goals and expectations of Samsung by following specific procedures.

Research and Development
Have monthly meetings with overhead supervisors in order to ascertain whether or not departmental and company goals and expectations are being met in the most efficient way. These meeting should provide opportunities for teams to present the innovations that have been established throughout the company during the preceding month or show progress on planned innovations. By showing these accomplishments, the department shows that they are assets to the company and are adept at providing innovative results to consumer demands.
Create teams and develop goals for each team that align with the company’s goals and expectations. These goals should be broken down into specific steps and each step should be assigned to appropriate team members. This allows those that work better individually to be able to have their needs met, yet also fosters a teamwork experience. Furthermore, this type of division helps ensure that each team member contributes fairly towards the overarching goal.
Allow each team opportunities to suggest new ideas and focuses based on accomplishment of preceding ideas. This step allows teams to brainstorm individually and as a whole in order to create new innovative products and processes.
Create reward programs aimed at fostering an environment for creating thinking and innovation.

Advertising
Divide into teams based on the different types of products that the company sells (computer chips, appliances, phones, etc.).
Create contests to reward different campaigns based on the type of product. This will provide opportunities for teams to show new innovations and creative ideas aimed at selling products to consumers.
Ensure that all individuals, as well as all teams, have equal opportunities to showcase their skills and ideas.
Establish different opportunities for teams and/or individuals to work on different products.

Designing
Like the advertising team, the design team is divided based on different products.
The design team should have the opportunity to develop individual designs, as well as designs as a team. This will assist in offering consumers a multitude of choices in product designs and products themselves.
The design team is provided equal opportunities to work on different products and projects.
Regular meetings should be established with the engineering department in particular to ensure that project ideas are aligned.

Engineering
The engineering team should brainstorm as a department.
As a department, new engineering designs and processes should be introduced to both the other departments, as well as middle and upper management.
