Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just got engaged last week. Markle, who is 36 years old, is an actress in the United States. She is a mixed- race woman, her mother African American and her father is white. She has appeared on shows, such as “Suits” and “General Hospital” and acted in the film “Remember Me.” Markle felt that being biracial made it tougher for her to get acting jobs.
Born in the warm Los Angeles, California, Markle graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor’s degree in theater and international studies. She went a Catholic school during her high school years. Markle has also done some modeling to support herself. Unlike Prince Harry, who has never been married, Markle was married to actor Trevor Engleson for 9 years until they divorced four years ago.
Some may think that her engagement to Prince Harry is sudden. They only started dating in June 2016 on a blind date that a friend of both of them arranged. Markle has announced that she is giving up her acting career to focus all her efforts on humanitarian work. This is where the Prince Harry and Markle seem to have some common ground with each other. They were just in the news for going to some projects in Nottingham, England On World AIDS Day to heighten some awareness for the illness and to also try and tackle crime among young people in England.
Prince Harry is the brother of William, both brothers the sons of the late Princess Diana, who died in 1997 in a car accident. Harry’s father Prince Charles is the son of Queen Elizabeth. Harry is 33 years old and recently got engaged to United States actress Meghan Markle. Harry is part of the Royal family and is English. His mother was a school teacher and his father served in the military, which was part of a longstanding family tradition.
Harry has been very active in charity work, just like his mother. He is able to accomplish many things though his work helping people and The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Besides raising awareness and funds for kids with developmental disabilities, Prince Harry has been very active in what is known as the “Invictus Games.” These games allow inured and sick men and women in the service to play in the games and heal. The games have been played in London, Orlando, and Toronto. Harry has taken steps to preserve land and animals in Africa and helped to establish Sentebale, an organization that works to help kids in Africa. The charity is dedicated to eradicating AIDS, AIDS awareness, and to helping to erase the negative attitudes toward AIDS. Harry even took an HIV test, which was posted live on Facebook, to show his support.
Harry was in the military and served in Afghanistan during the 2012-2013. Harry was the adventurous brother and enjoyed playing sports, such as rugby and polo. It seemed as if Harry had found his love match a few years ago in Cressida Bonas, who seemed to share is wild sense of adventure. However, the romance ended in 2013 after she claimed that she could not deal with having a famous boyfriend.
Markle worked as a counselor for international charity One Young World. She has also spoke at the 2014 annual summit in Dublin about gender equality and slavery that is still occurring today. Like Harry, she has been to Afghanistan. However, she traveled to the country as part of the USO Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Holiday Tour. Markle was also a global ambassador for what is known as World Vision Canada. An environmentalist, she also went to Rwanda to advocate for the Clean Water Campaign. This campaign is focused on clean and safe drinking water. Women’s issues are close to her heart. Meghan went to India to help with women’s issues. Meghan has also done some work with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality.
While both Harry and Meghan seem to be well-adjusted to the public eye and enjoy being active, Harry seems to be a bit more on the wilder side. Harry has gained publicity for being the risqué brother. He was photographed smoking marijuana at age 17, and has been rumored to be the long-lost son of James Hewitt, a man that his mother Princess Diana supposedly had an affair with in the 1980’s. In terms of education, Harry attended a prep school in high school and then went to Eton College, which was not a path that was easy for him. He ended up getting into the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst. In 2012, naked pictures of Harry and a mysterious woman were taken of them in a Las Vegas Hotel.
Before the couple gets married, Markle will join the Church of England. She will also become a citizen of Britain. The couple plans on living in Nottingham Palace in London when they get married next May. Hopefully, Prince harry and Meghan Merkle will be as happy as Prince William and Kate Middleton, who have two children and a third child on the way.
