The theory is relevant to employers as it concerns to provide a working place environment that enables and encourages employees to achieve self-actualization. From an employee management view, the Maslow theory has relevant implications for motivating employees in an organization. Consequently, the theory identifies several things that can be done in form of a five-stage model (Lunenburg, 2015). In this light, this paper seeks to review various constructs of the Coca-Cola Company in regards to the Maslow theory.

Many factors have contributed to the success of Coca-Cola Company in the UK. There are ranges of motivational factors that the company have employed that have proved to be effective. For instance, the company integrates mentorship and training for its employees in order to grow in their skills. In addition, other motivational practices that the company employs to its staff include; financial rewards and incentives, and enhancing communication by asking for the opinions of employees i order to make them feel more at ease (Dwilson, 2015). Consequently, these factors have become paramount to the success of the organization. According to Maslow’s theory, humans are motivated through five Hierarchy needs; physiological needs, safety needs, social needs, esteem, and self-actualization needs (Yelkikalan, 2015). For instance, in the workplace environment of Coca-Cola UK, the physiological need in the hierarchy model is to have a comfortable working condition and fair salary for the employees (Dwilson, 2015).

The security need in the framework considers safety measures of the employees such as their right to join a union or insurance. The social needs relate to creating team work and encouraging social interactions at the workplace. The esteem needs include fair rewards to the employees as a way of motivation or boosting mechanisms of the employees. The final need self-actualization is about allowing career progressions at the workplace through channels such as training and education (BBC News, 2013).

Coca-Cola Company in the U.K allows mentorship programs that create the opportunity for employees to grow in their skills through training. In addition, the peak performance allows for employees to be rewarded, and developments allow skill building in the area of focus for employees. Employees also receive tuition reimbursement which their children can qualify for scholarships. The company also strives in offering an energizing environment to its employees so that it motivates them to work daily. This includes the access to free parking, cafeteria, credit union, and dry-cleaning.it is also imperative to realize that each Coca-Cola work site provides a different perk. For instance, in the U.K, the headquarters provides free fruits and drinks, and an on-site gym (Dwilson, 2015).
