After a considerable amount of research I realized that there is a much better topic at hand, which is new, unexplored, interesting, and ultimately helpful. It is a known fact that children have become much more attached to technology (gadgets, to be more specific) than the previous generations in their childhood. They are less prone to socialize with their peers and are more inclined to stay in solitude, as the gadget, whatever it is – a tablet or a smart phone – fulfils their needs. My solution to fix this is the following: write and design a book specifically for children, which would be helpful and interesting at the same time. The book will be about friendship and choosing friends. I decided to ask myself three questions: why should I create the book? How this book will differ from others similar to it? How the message should be delivered. I wrote the book, because I felt there is need for it.
There is an unwritten demand: kids have become less sociable but they do not even realize it. I would like children to understand the true value of genuine friendship and I want them to see that it is a much more positive thing to have a physical friend rather than a picture in the social network. I also introduced the following concept – human harts as candy jars. The candies are for friends. I also included 16 types of personality showcasing them through types of candies. The message was crafted this way, because almost everybody loves candies. They are likely to embrace the concept as it is connected to a positive object.
After my research and the book’s completion, I would like children to understand how boring it is to have the same personalities and no individuality. To have a variety of unique traits is wonderful. This variety can compliment us and those surrounding us, just as it is interesting to have both a sour snake and a gummy bear so that life would be more interesting. It is important to fill our “jars” with an assortment of shapes, sizes, and flavours. The more positive personalities a child has in his life, the greater is the positive impact. One should not be afraid to mix things up, so to speak.
