Among many arising issues that comprise of ethical components, the process of obtaining an education within today’s youth has become one of the most crucial issues. What’s more, the education and youth are some of the most widely discussed topics within the national governments as well as within international organizations. Furthermore, not only the work of the international organizations has significantly contributed to taking an active part of policy and guidelines drafting. Also, the information came from the international organizations as well. First of all, one shall define the key actors involved in the process of obtaining an education within today’s youth. Secondly, the trends of the current research would be discussed. Thirdly, the essay would discuss the ethical element in the process of obtaining an education within youth. Finally, the essay would be concluded by taking into consideration the current studies and issues related on to the above-mentioned matter.
The geographical scope for obtaining an education within the youth comprises mainly the developing countries where a lot of students suffer from the lack of the access to educational resources. The key actors involved in the process of resolving the stance are primary the national governments. Rest of the key actors involved comprises primarily of such international organizations as United Nations, Council of Europe. Also, certain programs aimed at reaching out to youth worldwide could be found in the framework of the work done by the European Union and OECD.
Regarding the state of the current research on the outlined issue, one shall mention that there is a sufficient lack of technical and precise data on the ethical aspects while gaining an educational degree. Most of the publications launched by the national governments and the international organization focus on the evaluation of the processes related to the degree of extent of gaining an education. Mainly, the research comprises of reports issued annually by the UN units that deal with youth empowerment and youth employment. However, one can hardly note any mention regarding the ethical issue. Also, the research also lacks the clear distinction and outlining on the role of formal and informal education in the process of studying. Furthermore, the state of the existing research constitutes the lack of approach towards the social services that often are related to the process of obtaining an education within the youth circles. Social service and its organized work certainly belong to the social service components in matters of education from the respective organizations. However, the theoretical framework sufficiently lacks the methodological component and regards to the comparative approaches that could provide a more thorough outlook as well as include the ethical perspective.
While regarding ethics in collaboration along with the youth empowerment in education, one shall be aware of the cultural and geographical aspects. In many developing counties, the lack of the state education would often be compensated by the social services provided by external actors. However, the ethical component in contributing to the community work in the existing research is only distinguished as a complementary element, without looking into the issue from the cultural perspective. In reality, the primary issue lies in the incorporation of the two issues in the single set and look into the positive outcomes regarding educational matters that could be brought up.
To sup up, one should outline the lack of theoretical research related to the ethical aspects in youth empowerment and the existence of the separated lines in regarding the issue from different perspectives. Thus, while evaluating the state of research on the topic of ethics in educating youth one shall incorporate both formal and informal education.
