In today’s world, there are numerous pharmacy organizations across the globe. While majorities are country-based, there are some that are global. Each body is formed for a particular course. Although different organizations have different missions, they share functions. Additionally, a majority of the teams use education and research to achieve their duties.
The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) is an association of professional pharmacists who employ equipment and techniques of managed care to practice their profession. Each and every member of the organization is committed to providing the best pharmaceutical care to clients. Additionally, AMCP has empowered its members by facilitating continuous growth and advancement through annual conferences, e-learning, and leadership-oriented seminars. In most cases, the programs assisted by AMCP are aimed at advancing pharmaceutical knowledge and enhancement of clients’ satisfaction and health outcomes.
American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) is an organization whose primary role is to facilitate scholarships and education with the aim of improving drug therapy. Through advocacy and policies, the organization is dedicated to promoting pharmaceutical education. The group also acts as a source of innovative energy aiming distinguished in accomplishing its teaching mission. On top of that, AACP brings together colleges and schools to analyze the pharmacy profession and to gauge changes in societal demands in pharmacy. Additionally, the body also plays a crucial role in supporting research in sciences that are vital in the field of medicine. As such, AACP is fundamental in promoting pharmaceutical education to satisfy needs, wants and expectations of students, employers and the society as a whole.
American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) is a body of pharmacists that was started to help members of the profession become leaders in the practice and research of matters to do with human health and the quality of life. Ti achieves its mission; ACCP is dedicated to providing leadership, education and another form of resources that bare vital on enhancing clinical practices. Moreover, the association is highly devoted to providing a favorable climate for pharmacists to advance research on the discipline and further improve patient services. By facilitating training and research, ACCP also aims to develop pharmacotherapy. In retrospect to that, ACCP disseminates peer-reviewed and other scientific and pharmaceutical information to its members to enable them to improve their knowledge on drug therapy.
American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) is a global association of pharmacists that is dedicated to providing leadership, advocacy, and education with the aim of advancing pharmaceutical consultancy. The vision of the organization is to improve the quality of care among the aging population. It also seeks to enhance care and the quality of life by providing quality pharmaceutical care to clients. As such, ASCP is a renowned leader in pharmaceutical consultancy band senior care.
The Board of Pharmacy Specialists is another major pharmacy organization in the US. The body was formed in 1976, and it was tasked with certifying APhA. One of the roles of the board is to identify and recognize areas of specialization in the pharmacy. The board is also tasked with setting standards that are crucial for the certification of the specialist in the field of medicine. Moreover, the board is also an importance resource of information for pharmacists in the US. On top of that, the board also acts as a coordinator of all pharmacy specialists in the US.
The College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) primary mission is to enhance the performance of the pharmaceutical practice. The organization is also tasked with promoting education and research to improve health outcomes of patients with psychiatric and neurologic disorders. To achieve its mission, CPNP facilitates the dissemination of information concerning psychiatric and neurologic disorders. CPNP also advances research, patient care and promotes and supports the certification of psychiatric and neurologic specialists.
Overall, pharmaceutical bodies play a significant role in enhancing the discipline of pharmacy. The majority of the institutions place emphasis on research and education on medicine. However, each body has their unique mission that it aspires to achieve in the pharmaceutical discipline. As such, Pharmaceutical organizations should be promoted by all means.
