Introduction
The beach is a common destination for vacations and summer time entertainment. The place that provides a euphoric feeling of peace and serenity. A beach is a place that can only be described by it beauty. People of all ages, old and young can enjoy the environment and find a form of entertainment. The sand gently squishes through your toes as you walk up and down the shore. You can hear the waves crashing against the shoreline one after another. The sun is gleaming down warming your body and the sand beneath your feet. The wind rushes around you with the subtle smell of salt water only heightening the ambiance that the beach can provide. There are boats afar and jet skis visibly zooming around the water. An individual’s senses, sight, sound, smell collectively provide an unforgettable beach experience.
Rules of the Beach
Despite the beautiful environment, the beach does pose some dangers, and it is important for the visitors to comply with the rules for safety. The beautiful, inviting water does have some undertow that can pull the swimmers under. Even if one can swim well, the undertow can trap them and even pull them down. Lifeguards on the beach are limited, and it is important to stay where they can see you if the swimmer needs help. “Swimming is not permitted beyond 50 yards from the beach or over shoulder depth unless otherwise stated by the lifeguard” (Myrtle Beach Laws). There is also ocean life such as stingrays and sharks that can pose harm to the swimmers. The rules of staying where one can reach are necessary for the swimmers safety.
A beach is a perfect place for social gatherings. Many of the beaches have rules about drinking on the beach. “Glass containers and alcoholic beverages are prohibited on beaches” (Beach and Boardwalk). If an individual is under the influence, they may have difficulties swimming and have a greater chance of drowning. It also prevents a group from being too loud and unruly so that the other visitors can enjoy their beach experience.
The partition of the beach includes the sand, the water, and shorefront activities. The principle of operation is the beach is a public property where anyone can enjoy the environment as long as the rules are followed. The analogy of the beach provides a differentiation between a lake and ocean, and highlights the appeal for many to visit the beach. The beach offers a negation of reality where one can enjoy the peaceful, breathtaking environment. The etymology is when one runs or hauls up the beach. Individuals can exercise on the beach, participate in sports such as football or volleyball, or merely layout to work on their tan. The beach offers a platform for the guest to enjoy all forms of entertainment safely, as long as all the rules are followed.

Poor conduct of participants has resulted in injuries and their removal from the beach. The weather plays an important role in enjoying the beach, cold weather and rain tends to damper the entire experience. The beach draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to experience the beauty and entertainment that only the beach can provide.
