Music is a complex form of art that involves formulation of sound, silence, rhythm, and texture depending on the genre or the occasion. When listened to, music induces strong emotions to people from different cultures by stimulating the brain. Music can be defined as the systematic arrangement silences and sounds that pass through time. On the other hand, tones need to be organized in a logical, consistent and pleasing manner before they can be referred to as music in place of sounds.
Music Styles
The music styles that I like are classical, jazz, folk and country music. The styles are impressive because of their organization and the integration of different styles and instruments. Furthermore, these music styles also last for generations without losing the value. Country and classical styles are also used to express a wide range of feelings. Furthermore, classical and folk styles of music can be used for educational purposes. They exists in across different cultures and by listening to them, one learns a few things about the culture of origin.

Lohengrin is a romantic opera piece by Richard Wagner. Wagener employs the use of different voices and instruments to bring out a profound effect on the listener. The instruments used include flutes, horns, oboes, trumpets, violins, and clarinets. The use of different voices and instrumentation that is carefully punctuated with moments of silence takes the listener through the moods of anger, sadness, frustrations, and happiness. The entry and dialogue show an outstanding use of voice, instrumentation, silence, and rhythm to express emotions and feelings about a situation. The first two acts bring cause tension and anxiety and as one listens to them, they are determined to see what happens afterward. The last act changes the mood from happy to sad as Elsa’s joyous reception is interrupted with attackers and Lohengrin bids farewell after revealing his identity before the king.

The tune of the music is high; with high pitches and frequencies that bring about a vigorous rhythm. The energy level is high owing to the vigorous rhythm which makes it possible to dance to the music. Through the tonal and voice variations as well as a fast tempo, the music raises moods when listened.
