From the description given in the case, CloudCrushers can operate on both local and wide area networks. For this reason, the best protocol to use is a combination of LAN and WAN network protocol. LAN is a local network protocol that many firms and organizations use in office buildings and small geographical coverage such as within compounds (Antonakos & Mansfield, 2013). Organizations with wide network coverage cannot use LAN network protocol because of its geographical limitations. However, a LAN protocol can work effectively for firms that have confined office setting, where all the clerical and administrative duties are stationary. For example, in the case provided, CloudCrusher could use LAN network for stationary workers. For instance, for stationary workers in Austin Texas, the organization could consider installing a LAN server to connect the stationary workers (Antonakos & Mansfield, 2013). This could happen in other countries such as India where most of the workers are not remote and spend most of the time working from the offices. LAN network protocols are cheaper and fast compared to WAN, but cannot operate across wide areas. The structure of the company however, does not allow sole use of a LAN protocol. For this reason, the organization should consider using both LAN and WAN protocol because the latter can interconnect several LAN networks spread across a wide geographical area.
WAN network befits the needs of the organization but it would be ineffective when CloudCrushers fails to incorporate a supportive LAN protocol for local use. Unlike other protocols such as the MAN, which could be of great help to the company, WAN protocol does not have any geographical limits; it can offer services across national boundaries (Antonakos & Mansfield, 2013). In most cases, WAN protocols are several interconnection of LAN networks. A WAN and LAN protocol would for this reason be an ideal choice for CloudCrushers because it will enhance a wide reach and connected all the branches by using LAN connections at their local stations.
Therefore, assuming that CloudCrushers choose to adopt a WAN and LAN protocol, which would be an exciting idea, the organization will put up a network switches in different locations where they have offices and allow the workers using desktops MAcBooks, MiFi devices, phones, and other connectivity devices to have ample access to the network (Antonakos & Mansfield, 2013). LANs have the advantage of privacy. The organization can thus have private servers at local stations and enjoy more freedom locally. Other than the privacy factor, LAN also has higher and constant bandwidth rates compared to WAN connections. Therefore, because the organization is multination it needs to acquire the two protocols, WAN, and LAN.
A routing protocol is a complex systems made up of messages and algorithms. The algorithms and the messages function as exchange vessels for routing information (McCabe, 2014). Other than exchanging the routing information, the algorithms and messages also play a priceless role in the process of populating the routing tables the protocol of routing. The advanced routing protocols in use today came to existence because the traditional one could not deal with the heavy traffic experienced on the networks (McCabe, 2014). Since then, user experience improved because of the eased congestion on the networks. Moreover, modern advanced routing protocol come in different form based on the demands of the users, which allows people to use customized routing protocol that befit their needs. This always have a positive impact on the user network confidence (McCabe, 2014). Today, people can work smoothly without experiencing extreme traffic because of the advanced routing protocols in the market.
