THESIS STATEMENT: Runway fashion has been a subject of controversies regarding whether it should be encouraged in the society or not (Stokes, 2015). However, there is some underlying sense in arguing that runway fashion should be encouraged in the society because of various ways. First, it enables individuals to understand their body image and how they can dress accordingly. Second, runway fashion has transformed the standards of beauty and body image in the community. Third, runway fashion has enabled people to develop realistic grounds in the development of their body images through the adoption of lifestyles that cannot destruct body image.
ARGUMENTS
Runway fashion empowers individual to learn more about their body image and how they can dress accordingly. Long before the discovery of runway fashion people used to dress aimlessly. Thankfully, runway fashions have triggered new perceptions about dressing codes in the society. For instance, runway fashion has empowered people to distinguish between sports attire and official wear. More importantly, it has enabled individuals to understand the concept of dressing to the occasion (Stokes, 2015). When people sit back and watch runway fashions, they get enlightened about the most suitable wear for their bodies by comparing themselves to the body shapes of the models. That is extremely important given that it makes them selective in choosing clothes that are likely to fit their bodies accordingly. Designers and editors play significant roles in coming up with the best match of clothes that are substantially attractive and fitting to particular body shapes making it easier for people to learn how they can dress in the society. In fact, the current dressing codes of people in the society has improved significantly because of runway fashions because people are careful in ensuring that their dressing styles and codes are appealing to them and others. Thus, it is evident that runway fashion has enlightened the members of the community about techniques of dressing accordingly for different occasions and to suit their body structures and images (Stokes, 2015).
In retrospect to that, runway fashion has been extremely instrumental in necessitating the transformation of the standards of beauty and body image amongst the members of the community. Consequently, fashion designers and editors have exemplary capabilities of designing clothes that are likely to appear attractive to particular body structures of individuals. As people take the initiative of following these clothing patterns accordingly, it increases the standards of their body image and beauty (Stufft, 2011). The fact that body image is primarily portrayed by how you appear to be confident about yourself and how people react to you explains why runway fashion should be encouraged in the society. Other than providing individuals with tips on how to dress attractively; runway fashion also empowers individuals to portray their underlying states of beauty to others. More importantly, runway fashion has enabled people from different cultural setups to demonstrate varying body image and beauty depending on their dressing codes. Moreover, it is through runaway fashions that people are educated about ways of portraying positive images of their bodies depending on their contexts. For instance, a majority of youths depend on models and fashion designers on the guidance of how to dress rationally and attractively. Thus, it is evident that runway fashions are substantially significant in enhancing body image amongst the members of the society (Stufft, 2011).
Finally, runway fashion has empowered different groups of people to develop realistic grounds in the development of their body images through the adoption of lifestyles that cannot destruct body image such as healthy nutritional practices and taking part in exercise activities. For instance, people become careful not to take diets that are likely to interfere with their structure and images of their bodies to ensure that the structures of their bodies remain attractive and thrilling (Vittayakorn et al., 2015). By so doing, runway fashion promotes healthy living amongst different groups of people. As people engage themselves in physical activities and exercises to achieve specific body images, they tend to boost the health of their bodies. On that regard, it becomes difficult for them to be ascertained with lifestyle health complications such as obesity as well as heart disorders. In the long run, runway fashion becomes significant in promoting positive body image and self-confidence amongst diverse groups of people. Studies have shown that models have high influence in the dressing codes of the young generation because youths tend to emulate their dressing codes. On the contrary, it empowers them to dress in an appealing manner. On the contrary, it is significant to highlight that runway fashion has played a remarkable role in promoting healthy nutritional practices in then society. Unlike, the past decades where runway fashion was not yet discovered, people are now careful about their eating habits to ensure that their body image remains in good shape. Therefore, it is evident that runway fashion has empowered people to readjust their lifestyles as a measure of acquiring particular body images (Vittayakorn et al., 2015).
CONCLUSION
To sum up, I have provided my pieces of evidence in the above discussion to support my argument that runway fashion should be encouraged in the society because it enables individuals to understand their body image and how they can dress accordingly. Besides, runway fashion has transformed the standards of beauty and body image in the community. Finally, runway fashion has enabled people to develop realistic grounds in the development of their body images through the adoption of lifestyles that cannot destruct body image. Therefore, runway fashion should be embraced at all fronts and apprehended whatsoever because of the positive impacts that it has triggered in people (Stufft, 2011).
