Prisoners of war are undertaken through various experiences when they are in the hands of the perpetrators. This is because treating other people in a manner that does not support their human nature is a lack of integrity among the perpetrators which amount to gross misconduct as indicated in the protocols that govern professionalism. Therefore, the lack of strict adherence to the ethical and moral standards that are the values and beliefs for the military personnel led to the inappropriate treatment on the soldiers characterized by high levels of torture at their prison.

In order to prevent the recurrence of such behavior in the future, there are various strategies that can be adopted by the military personnel regarding the operations. One of the approaches is by the formulation of strict policies to govern the conduct of the military personnel while handling various perspectives of war. This can include giving the guidelines on how the prisoners of war can be used constructively to assist in the success of the military operations while guarding the interests of the prisoners. This policies can also be consistent with the international human rights treaties that give guidance on the appropriate ways of regarding human beings in various undertakings. In order to ensure that such policies are followed, strict penalties should be put in place in order to make the officers involved not to be engaged in these engagements.

The most practical and realistic ways to prevent the torture is by encouraging the involved officers to embrace the integrity to humanity by having a positive cultural transformation. This can be achieved by the military personnel adopting high level of ethical and moral standards that include having respect to human rights. This can inspire the perpetrators to treat other people that have opposing views with the respect they require. Individuals that work against the ethical and moral standards should be prosecuted in court due to the lack of the required integrity to serve as a public officer.
