I am a dedicated business corporate planning professional with vast experience in business planning and budgeting, strategic decision making processes, investment advising, sales and marketing, and company financial analysis. I have worked in various managerial positions across different sectors of the economy such telecommunication, shipping, and finance.
I have a MBA Degree from the University of Strathclyde, U.K. in association with the college of Banking and Financial Studies.
The master degree program enabled me to acquire educational knowledge in business financials, and developing and execution of business finance budgets. I possess a master of science in Acquisition Management from George Washington University, USA. In addition, I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Decision science and Management information systems, USA. I have educational knowledge in finance analysis which has enabled me to effectively execute my duties in various finance departments in multinational companies in Oman.
I have achieved various milestones and targets in the companies that I have worked for. While working for Oman LNG LLC, I played a key role in defining the requirements for the financial system of future as well as its plan to integrate it with the company wide information technology framework using my educational background and knowledge in decision making and business information systems. I achieved in improving the finance process through the application of creative thinking within the best practice business philosophy. This enabled the company to streamline various financial activities and process according to the agreed business policies and objectives. While working as a process and methods accountant, I gained immense experience in designing finance process to improve efficiency and resource utilization.
As a management accountant for Oman LNG LLC, I played a key role in the process of assimilating, analyzing, and presenting financial and non-financial information to internal and external stakeholders. I achieved in providing a constructive analysis and compiling of budget figures of various departments as well as the company as a whole. In addition, I made significant contribution in the finance department by identifying new concepts and new approaches to provide definition of the future strategic direction of the finance department. I achieved in providing on time analytical interpretation of cost figures for monthly analysis and also providing cost benchmarking framework for the company. Besides gaining senior managerial experience in a busy telecom environment while working as a Business Analysis Manager at Omani Qatari Telecommunication Company (Nawras), I achieved in developing business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitoring on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure that they are strictly achieved. I played a key role in coordinating cross departmental marketing planning on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Currently, I am the General Manager – Corporate Planning at Oman Shipping Company S.A.O.C., a senior management position which part of my career ambition of being involved in a renowned and multinational company as its Chief Executive Officer. I am actively involved in formulating strategic business directions and plans in line with company goals and objectives and also budgets. My experience in marketing helps me to analyze the shipping market in regard to competitor activities, movements, and the introduction of new concepts in the market.
My participation in the CEO program will help me acquire high level business management skills across various departments in the organization as well as working in a diverse economic environment. The knowledge I will earn from the program will enable me to improve the business process of the Private Sector in Oman by developing business strategic ideas to enable companies grow and increase profitability.
