The title of the paper is “Could Apple’s Latest Venture into Health IT Disrupt the Entire Industry?” This article was published on the Healthcare Informatics Magazine website (Levanthal, 2017). The focus of the article is the integration of Information Technology into matters concerning health care. My career path in business management with interest in business-driven technology highly relates to the contents of the article. The author talks about the integration of the healthcare industry with aspects of the technology industry (Levanthal, 2017). This relationship is evidenced from the fusion of technology with healthcare in an effort to improve healthcare services. The contents of the article, therefore, seem to be significant in two major industries.
My perspective on the article is that the technology that targets the healthcare industry is business driven and will be beneficial to most individuals, especially the patients. The positivity of the content of the article cannot be argued as it touches on key areas of possibilities that could benefit the health IT industry. This involves the enhancement of society and the industry in various ways. One particular way is that the technology being discussed in the article will allow easy sharing of medical information, which will make it easier for patients to share a medical history that can be used to provide special care and improve healthcare services. Furthermore, there is an aspect of enhancement of the society in the fact that the patients will be given the ability of control over their records.
The information from the article is significant in showing the importance regarding the topic. The related companies will use the information as a focus in creating technology that is business driven by solving one of the society’s major problems in the healthcare industry. I agree that Apple’s latest venture will indeed disrupt the health IT industry. From a business-driven technology point of view, the venture is ideal and something new in the health IT industry, thus, creating possibilities for the creation of more significant technology.
