The United States of America is faced with several threats. However, the most notable threat is terrorists. There are several terror groups that are presenting day to day threats to the peaceful United States of America. Some of the notable militia groups include Al Qaeda and ISIS. These groups are mainly based in the Muslim regions. However, they are recruiting all types of people. They recruit Christians, the whites and the blacks, Non-Islam and several other people from various parts of the world (Enders at el., 2006). This has led to the spread of the threat of terrorism to all social groups in the society and thus compromising the stability and peaceful coexistence of people.
These terrorist activities can be categorized into three main groups. One of the groups is responsible for high-level attacks. These are fully involved in instigating attacks against United States of America. The second group poses medium threats to the people and the security agencies in the United States and other parts of the world. They engage in terror activities such as demolition of structures and property such as the U.S Embassies. Finally, the last category causes slightly lower threats. These are the locals in the United States who are civilians that fall victims to these attacks. Al Qaeda is the primary threat to the United States because of the continued security threats that is presents to the citizens and the security agencies.
There are several implications that are associated with terrorism and terrorist activities. Firstly, terrorism leads to the murder of several lives. Over the past years, several lives have been lost due to terrorism and related activities. For instance, there have been cases of suicide bombers in the United States from the threats associated with the problem. These are the terrorist who murders several people including themselves with the use of explosives. Again, the other implication of terrorism is refugees. On serious occasions, destruction of property and houses leads to homelessness. Several refugee centers have been formed to gather information and intelligence data for the rising terrorism to assist in developing the controlling strategies.
Terrorism has also raised political temperatures in various countries across the globe. There has been a lack of mutual coexistence between the United States the Islam regions. This is because the terrorist is mainly based in these regions. These are regions of Iraq and Syria and other regions associated with extremist and radical social movements. Fighting, violence and murder are the order of each new day in such regions. Terrorism, therefore, is an enemy of peaceful coexistence between nations and people in the society.
However, the government of the United States has been working tirelessly to reach an amicable solution to this threat. There are several mechanisms that have been implemented to counter these terrorist acts. One of the most notable solutions is to advance the security of the nation. Here there are two-dimensional approaches that the government has taken and implemented. One is to revive and improve the security locally. Here, several security agents have been employed. These include CIA, FBI and the police. These are individuals who are professionally trained and qualified. They, therefore, ensure that they ensure that the land of United States is protected. At the same time, they ensure that the people of the United States of America live peacefully and harmoniously.
Again, the United States have advanced their weaponry and machinery. The rifles that are used and the machinery are of high-level technology. This goes a long way in ensuring success when combating the terrorist. In addition to that, the government of the United States has categorically stated that they don’t negotiate with terrorists. This clearly suggests that whatever the case, they will fight the enemy to the last breath or resource (Bush, 2002).
However, there are other solutions that can still make an impact in the long fight against terrorism. The government should not only resort to ways such as fighting back or neutralizing the terrorists. There are other solutions that can be peaceful and instrumental in reaching the most lasting solution. One of these solutions is peaceful talks. This suggestion might sound weird to many. But, given the seriousness it deserves it can yield the best results. For several years, options such as fighting back and neutralizing the enemy have been used. However, the results are not magnitude. It is, therefore, high time that the United States of America up their game and tries new solutions. It is high time that every citizen is vigilant and says no to terrorism. Religious institutions, non-governmental institutions and even learning institutions should all foster and preach against this threat to humanity.
