Neural correlation necessitates the production of a particular experience with correspondence to a brain activity. Neural correlation is found to define behavior in young adults. Young adults are considered the most difficult people to understand. Their behavioral changes are hard to keep up with and as such leave their parents a worried lot. The young adults struggle with identity exploration and self-esteem and the current digital era coupled with social media has worsened the situation. Behaviors portrayed by the group are evident in areas such as the digital information practices and personality moods. Other risk factors include tobacco use, alcohol consumption, and sexual practices. Most of the practices mentioned above are common among the young adults than their older counterparts. Such practices put them at risk and in severe cases can result in the loss of their lives. The aim of this paper is to explain how the factors contribute to the neural correlation behaviors in young adults.

Sexual practices are on the rise among young adults because there is an increase in pregnancy among young females and the use of contraceptives among the young adults. Such practices have led to the rise in sexually transmitted diseases such as AIDS, which is the second leading cause of deaths among the youth aged between14-25. Of the 15 million people who are infected annually, 4 million are young adults. Other factors have been attributed to sexual practices such drug and alcohol abuse that make one make rational decisions that lead to bitter consequences. (Lear, 1995)

A sample of a group of adults was used to carry out the study to determine how neural correlation defines the behavior of young adults. The group consisted of 20 females and 35 males for the survey. Of the 20 females, 10 had engaged in sexual practices and were not aware of their status of the ten some stated that they engaged in sexual practices while intoxicated and were therefore not sure whether they used protection during the practice. Of the 35 males, 15 said they are already addicted to drugs and alcohol use while another ten claimed they use it when for specific reasons such as to boost their confidence and to fit in with their peers. In the study, the use of questionnaires was adopted to ensure the identity of the respondent is protected.

The results indicated that some young youths engage in vices such as tobacco and alcohol use to hide characters such as shyness. The need to fit in a particular group of people prompted some of them to abuse the substances. In the search for an identity, youth can be lured into using substances that may affect him or her in future. It makes them be an irresponsible lot, and the consequences are blamed on their friends. Young adults aged between 18 and 27 are also affected by the craze of the social media. The desire to be and look like someone else pushes them to an extent of eating what their idol eats. A common perception among the youth is you only live once; hence, one should live their life to the fullest. It has created youths who no longer care about the consequence of their actions. The need to move with the current trends has also contributed to the outcome. (Greenberg, 2006)

Some choose to blame the parents for such behaviors while others blame it on the internet. The internet has made it easy to access information and entertainment and with inventions such as the smartphones, information is only a finger away. Videos spread like fire on the internet, and the desire to belong pushes the young adults to do what they see the celebrities do. An increase in skin lightening procedures and plastic surgeries has been on the rise because of the need to look and feel good about themselves. Though such practices boost their self-esteem and confidence, their health is put at risk because some of the youth do not undergo the right procedure on their bodies.

Evidence from the study shows that the youth is no longer pushed by their goals and objectives instead the desire to be associated with whatever is trending at that time clouds their minds. Fashion, lifestyle, and money are what rules their world and they will go to any extent to get what they want. Instead of putting such energies to good use, it is lost in the search for a particular kind of life.

In conclusion, most of the behaviors portrayed by the youth are centered the negative influence they have from their friend or the internet. A need to change this culture is important as so many youths will be lost to drug and alcohol abuse as they try to self-realize while others will die of STDs and STIs which will impact negatively on the society. It will also affect the economy of the nation, and brilliant young minds are rendered useless because of alcohol and drug abuse. Educating the youth on the importance of building their self-esteem by believing in themselves will help in boosting their confidence making them resistant to vices that may push them to bad behavior. Equal distribution of opportunities for the youth provides a chance for them to be engaged in various activities. It will make them feel important and useful to the society and thus minimize the occurrence of vices such as drug and alcohol abuse. Engaging the brain of a youth in productive activities will mold them into responsible, independent beings. (DuRant et al., 1999).
