There are inventions and scientific ideas that could facilitate existence, business, and living.

Among such interesting and potentially useful ideas is, for example, Elon Musk’s 760 mph trains operating in the Hyperloop system. This ambitious idea suggests drilling of a tunnel underneath New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington DC, which would allow to commute between the cities “in just 29 minutes” (Muoio). Pods would go through a low-pressure tube and would be able to carry both passengers and cars, and, according to the concept, solar power would be used for the system. Thus, it would be sustainable and allow quick and comfortable travelling. It could be of great assistance to government and business, as the Hyperloop system in future could be developed across all America, providing countless opportunities for business development. Furthermore, it could be used by those individuals, who are afraid to fly.

Another fascinating scientific opportunity would be finding leaks in pipes before they cause a catastrophe. In terms of deterioration of water and gas pipes the risks of serious damage caused by minor leaks are constantly increasing. Thus, it is essential to find a way of detecting a leak while it is still small, or even before it appears. Current leak detection systems are expensive, inefficient, and slow, and thus, a new faster and more efficient solution for lesser costs would be beneficial. For example, a small-sized robotic device that would passively move with the flow through the pipes and being able to detect even the tiniest variations in the system pressure (Chandler). Such system is being developed by MIT professor and students, and tested in Monterrey, Mexico. Device is inserted and retrieved through the water hydrant system. Such device would be a great pragmatic solution of possible serious problems.

To conclude, it is important to continue scientific development, regardless of whether innovations seem to be useful, like those suggested above, or minor like making a special groove in the back of a chair so that a handbag would not slide off it. Some of inventions are not recognized as important before they get into people’s lives and they start applying them.
