Korean culture has been influenced by the cultures of the countries in Asia and even Europe. Hybrid fashion has unique and well incorporated features that link most of the fashions of the West and Japanese, including other Asian countries. Korea has grown immensely over the course of the past 5 decades owing to technological advancement and in effect it has influenced trends across the world. Globalization has ensured that Korea’s fashion trends has reached many other Asian countries as well as other parts of the world. The compatibility of this fashion has impressed so many people and the selection of the commodities they produce has been of great attraction (Mitchell 1998, p 147).

The spread of Korean fashion in the East, Asian countries and to the West has been linked to the uniqueness and cultural imperialism, Confucian values and the ability to impress the other cultural settings. The close link in the languages and the beliefs and values exhibited from Confucian practices, have made it easier for them to communicate and convince the others to believe in the fashions of their culture. The Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese and other Asian countries have accepted these fashions due to their close linkages with theirs (Do Thao 2012, p 34).

The spread of Korean Wave have been linked with the impact of media and the modes of technologies. Currently, the Koreans are acting in Asia and this has been associated with the cultural imperialism of the Korean Culture in the region. The ability of the Koreans to import the western cultural practices such as movies aided the western culture to influence the Korean fashion. Consequently, the Korean fashion has been heterogeneous in most instances due to the influence of the local and adjacent cultures. The sharing of the cultures through their social places has improved the heterogenisation of the fashion. The instances of homogenization of the fashion in Korea have been very great due to Korean cultural imperialism in the region. The Western cultures have had great impact on the Korean fashion. For instances; Kathleen Kye of the youthful graffiti prints and Hongbum Kim of Cres, have reduced the originality of the Korean Fashion currently (Hyun-key Kim 2013, 142).

In the globalization context, the Korean culture and fashions have been influenced by the spread of these cultural practices and fashions in the west. The inculcation of the western cultures into their practices and designing has improved by the Western cultures. For instance the acting of western drama, soap operas, music such as Techno, house, hip hop, rock and dancing styles have been cultural practices and fashions borrowed from the west but currently improving the Korean image in the fashion world (Do Thao 2012, p 36). The glocalization of the Korean culture has been associated and improved by the common believes and practices in the Asian region. The influences of the Asian cultural settings have been noticed on some of the practices. As shown in the movie, pop culture in Asia, the Korean fashion is spread through the action of movies, plays and through the media which is not as extensive as the western media (YouTube 2014).
